It’s 2000 km of surfing through the fantastic dunes on the famous and renowned route of the DAKAR RALLY. The difference from professional drivers is that you’ll be with your family and friends in exclusive cars for your group and you’ll be staying in luxurious and authentic Moroccan palaces throughout the entire journey.
Although the 4×4 expedition is an exciting adventure, it is designed to be comfortable and unforgettable. You will travel in fully equipped cars prepared for this unique journey, while enjoying the luxury and comfort of selected hotels – true oases of tranquility in the heart of the desert.
Self-Drive 4×4 Expeditions
At Marroco’s Offroad, you can enjoy the true “Self-Drive” experience: taking the wheel of a 4×4 through the roads, dunes, and mountains of Morocco, or “Driven”: letting a local guide do the driving. Our expeditions are inclusive for all profiles.
But here, “self” doesn’t mean being alone.
All expeditions are conducted in an organized convoy, led by our experienced local guide, Hamid, and accompanied by our entire support team.
This means you get the thrill of driving your own car, with a sense of independence and adventure, but without sacrificing safety:
• An itinerary structured and tested by our team
• Hotel reservations and organized logistics
• Mechanical and operational support throughout the journey
• Local guides leading the convoy and assisting at each stop
This format is known internationally as a Guided Self-Drive Expedition or Self-Drive Convoy Tour: you’re in control of the wheel, but always within a safe, organized environment and with all the necessary assistance.
This way, you can experience the adventure of driving in Morocco, but with the peace of mind of knowing you’re never alone.

If you prefer to simply enjoy the trip without driving, don’t worry: we provide experienced drivers at no additional cost. This way, you can choose whether you want to be behind the wheel or relax as a passenger—the experience will be equally complete.
The expedition is carried out in Toyota 4×4 Land Cruiser Prado vehicles. The Toyota cars are known by the Berber people as ‘true desert dromedaries’ because they are the only ones designed and capable of conquering the hostile, rocky, and sandy dune terrain, which can easily reach up to 300 meters in height.
You don’t need the skills of a professional driver because it’s not a competition; here, you can enjoy all the landscapes, passing through more than 10 cities, immersing yourself in their culture, cuisine, and entertainment.
In addition to off-road activities, you can ride quads, camels, and even get to know the city of Marrakesh from above with a delightful hot air balloon ride.
Safety is guaranteed with mechanics to assist the 4×4 vehicles throughout the journey, and the expedition includes nights for you to experience sleeping in Berber tents.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The entire 4×4 expedition is done in Toyota Land Cruiser Prado vehicles provided on the day of the adventure’s start (rented vehicle is included in the package).
- Expert mechanics for 4×4 assistance throughout the journey, ensuring safety.
- Fuel costs.
- Vehicle cleansing is performed daily after arriving at the last hotel in the late afternoon.
- Satellite radio battery recharging is done daily upon arrival at the last hotel of the day and delivered back in the mornings.
- Taking part in some of the trails of the famous Paris Dakar Rally route.
- It’s not a competition; it’s an adventure 4×4 expedition.
- Camel excursions in the desert and nights in Berber tents in the desert.
- Airport transfers.
- Transport in a minibus with a driver.
- A guide who speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and English is available every day of the trip.
- Accommodation with breakfast, lunch and dinner included in the hotels accordingly with the quote.

- Desert tents have all the comforts (bed, private bathroom, hot shower, electricity), but air conditioning is not standard, as they rely on a generator. If available, it can be purchased separately on-site (EUR 40 per tent).
- The itinerary may be subject to changes due to climatic conditions, access issues, or any other factors that the company deems may affect the safety or well-being of the travelers.
- Hotels will be as planned or similar, depending on the contracted category.
- The down payment can be made into a Brazilian account (R$ – Brazilian real), and the balance in cash (EUR – euros) upon arrival in Morocco.
- Solo travelers can choose double/triple rooms, and we will arrange roommates for them. If this option is not available, choosing a single room will be necessary.
- Regardless of the room choice, 4×4 expedition vehicles can be shared for those who do not wish to drive.
- The down payment secures your spot as there is a limited availability.
- Up to 120 days before the trip: In case of cancellation, 80% of the deposit paid will be refunded.
- Between 119 and 60 days before the trip: In case of cancellation, 50% of the deposit paid will be refunded.
- Between 59 and 30 days before the trip: In case of cancellation, 10% of the deposit paid will be refunded.
- From 30 days before the trip: There will be no refund, and the amount paid will be considered lost, with no right to a refund.The amount paid for the deposit will be refunded within 30 (thirty) business days after the cancellation request.
- Children under 2 years old: free of charge
- Children aged 3 to 11 years old: 50% of the adult package price
- Children aged 12 to 16 years old: 70% of the adult package price
- Children over 16 years old: full price
- The child policy applies to children sharing rooms with their parents.

WHO WE ARE
A Brazilian passionate about traveling and a Moroccan entrepreneur and tourism visionary who met in Morocco in 2012 and reunited in 2019 for a 4×4 expedition through the Sahara Desert. We saw the charm and magic of the journey and the energy that the Sahara Desert brings to people.
Hamid Yakoubi
Hamid is Moroccan, more precisely a Berber, born at the sands of the legendary Sahara Desert.
He has lived in Brazil for over 10 years and now resides in Morocco.
He doesn’t only speaks Portuguese fluently but also 7 other languages.
He has been working with tourism since the year 2000 and annually takes thousands of people to discover the realms of the 1001 nights, either in groups or individual packages, always providing the most personalized experience according to each traveler’s profile.
His first 4×4 expedition took place in the year 2000. Today he has more than 23 years of experience in the off-road 4×4 universe. He knows every corner of the country, and can cross the Sahara Desert with his eyes closed, a true experience for off-road enthusiasts.

In 2012, I was in Morocco for the first time. I spent 14 days getting to know this incredible country with all the travel arrangements provided by Hamid’s tourism company. The scenery is like something out of a movie, the people are vibrant, and the culture is captivating; it’s hard not to fall in love with it all.
In 2019, I returned for a more intense and adrenaline-packed adventure, the 4×4 expedition rally in the Sahara Desert. Driving a 4×4 across over 2000 km of dunes, lakes, riding camels, and a few other surprises left a profound impact on me. I felt such a strong connection to this place that I decided I need to share the same feeling with others. Everyone deserves to experience this!
Amidst ideas and suggestions along the route, we thought about combining Hamid’s experience of more than 20 years in Moroccan tourism with my passion for travel, and that’s how Marroco’s Off-Road was born. Inshallah!
